Cinny Lawrence, Timberline's Design Director, updated us this morning on the new mobile-commerce feature from Amazon: the ability to order via text.

Amazon now offers customers the ability to make purchases with text messaging from a cell phone or PDA! It requires the customer to have an account already set up so it makes sense for Amazon. Still, it’s forward thinking.

Interesting stats for U.S. mobile phone users as of this year:

• 46 million (19%) will access the Internet from their phones
• 166 million (69%) will use text messaging
